Memorial Day, 2008

For memorial day, we went down to our friends' summer house on a lake in Carver, MA. Okay, maybe it was only a pond. But I like to say lake because I took the canoe out with Lilo and their daughter and got blown to the middle of the lake. I tried rowing hard against the current fora about 10 minutes and realized I wasn't getting anywhere. then I tried rowing harder..and made no progress. I then realized that the current/wind was stronger then I could ever row, so I gave up and got blown to the other side of the "LAKE". We had to get a ride back from the house at the other end of the lake. The winds were about 30mph, and the woman who gave us a ride back said, "this is not a day to be out on the lake. I don't even see any sailboats....where are you from???"
"the city"
"oh."
Apparently our friends have a reputation with the locals for getting in trouble, and being "city slickers". I don't think we helped their reputation much.
Check out the slideshow below. Stitch and their son are like soul mates. We didn't coordinate ths silly faces they made...they came up with the same faces at the same time on their own.

Too Hairy!

We had our friends Rachel and Ali over for dinner last night, and well, Ali is pretty hairy. (He's actually in a moustache competition this month at http://www.moustachemay.com)
Anyway, Stitch told him, "You can't touch my scooter because your hair will fall off on it"
(Sorry Ali, it was just too funny)
