Spring Break 2009

For Spring Break this year, we went back "home" to California. It's the first time we have been back in perhaps a year, so the agenda was quite packed. We started off at our friends, the Lee's, place, and then headed down to San Diego for the week. Sitting at Coffee Bean in Carlsbad early one morning with the sun just coming up, I decided that I'm moving back..eventually. It's just too beautiful not to. Anyway...

...during the week, we visited Disneyland and Legoland.....

...and then drove up to San Francisco for the second week to spend time with family and friends. We also celebrated Grandma and Great Aunt's graduation. I think one of the most memorable moments of my trip was when we went to visit the GC's aunt in San Jose. When we pulled into the driveway, the garage door opened, and the GC's aunt was waiting in the garage with a huge bouquet of ballon's and a HUGE smile on her face from ear to ear. I don't think I have ever felt so welcomed anywhere in my life (and I'm not just sying that because I know she's a loyal reader of this blog)!

Stitch Kicking @# in a wii tournament

During spring break, the resort we were staying at had a wii tournament for the kids. The kids insisted on joining the tournment, which I thought was a waste of time, since all the kids were older than them and they hardly ever play the wii (~once a month?). Much to my surprise, they both won their first round. Lilo was beaten in the second around. Sitch made it to the semifinals, where he played a kid at least 10-13 years older than him at wii boxing. The kid thought he had it in the bag, but much to everyone's surprise and entertainment, Stitch won. He went on to play the girl who beat Lilo, and won the entire tournment. The prize choices were mostly inappropriate for his age: A Starbucks, Rubios, or Jamba Juice gift card.
