Boston Red Sox

Took the kids to their first Boston Red Sox game this weekend. Lilo had won tickets to the game through the library. It's BPL's "Read your way to Fenway" program. 500 kids got 3 tickets each to the game for writing an essay on a book they read this summer. Lilo wrote about one of Laura's Ingel's Wilder's books, and read 25 books in 2 months this summer, including the entire Narnia series and the entire Harry Potter series (in 1 week).
The kids were super excited. We took the train from Manchester into the city, and then took the T to the station. Lilo thought everyone was going to the game because they won tickets through the library.
The kids didn't last long, though. They got bored, and the Sox were getting creamed when 10-1 during the 4th inning when we left. I think the final score was 15-4.

Crabbing and Swimming in Manchester

We went crabbing again. This time, our friends the "Hawkins" and their 4 kids, the "Wilson's" and their 4 kids, and 2 newlywed kids came with us. There were a lot of crabs, a lot of chicken legs (used to catch the crabs), string, and a lot of fun. Amazing what fun $10 can be.
Especially note the newlyweeds romantically sitting on the park bench. Then look carefully at what they are actually doing. (You may need to see the bigger pictures to see the detail)

Crabbing

Our buddy, Lawler, called up this evening and invited us to go crabbing with him and his son, Arion. We tied strings to chicken drumsticks, drop 'em in the water, and the crabs clamp on to the chicken.
Unfortunately, these crabs are too small to eat, so we spill 'em out on the water and see who jumps back in first.
A beautiful night.
Thanks LAWLER!
I'm actually now off to read Lawler's book. More on that later. :)

Number 3's First Birthday

Number 3 turned 1 this past week. (yes, quite sad that he is 1 year old and we don't have a Lilo and Stitch Nickname for him yet. We're open to ideas).

Anyway, we had a little party at home, and then this past weekend, we had a little party by the water in Manchester, MA where we are staying and the kids went crabbing.

I bought a BBQ that we could also use for future cookouts. I had thought it would be a few pieces to assemble the BBQ. However, it was a lot more complex. Our friends, Jose Duarte and Lawler Kang helped me assemble. Funny thing is, the minute I rolled the BBQ through the front door when I got home, it completely collapsed.
